Moreland collaborates with RICS on the future of public-private partnerships

This week I was fortunate enough to spend some time with a research team commissioned by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS – www.ricsamericas.org) who are working on advancing public-private partnership research and its relative “value for money” over traditional procurement.  The research team had assembled a well rounded team of PPP experts and political advisors to help them in their efforts.  Overall it was a very lively discussion with a wide variety of perspectives represented.  It was quite clear that we all believed PPP’s should be available as a “tool” to state’s and localities.  Once they are available, you can then evaluate each project individually to determine if they are the “right” tool for that particular situation.  They won’t always be the answer, but at least they can have the opportunity to be considered.
